OUR MISSION

The broad mission of The New World F.E.S.T. is to present interesting exhibits and other content under the umbrella of “a smart future, and the greening of the planet”, and to deliver it in an entertaining fashion.

It is our ultimate objective to achieve this mission in such a manner so that messages conveyed at this event are retained and put into practice. We hope it leads more people to become more aware, more involved, and more proactive.

We are so pleased that the City of Santa Monica saw fit to open its beachfront for the FEST. We feel that our messages will be best retained in a desirable setting like the beach, under the sun, in the great outdoors.

We hope to do our small part to “expand the market for green”, and expand general knowledge and respect for some of the science and innovation which underlies our quest for a smart future.

ABOUT OUR NAME

The world sure is new. And it keeps getting newer. Its rate of change is super-fast. Some say changes to our planet, society, and our abilities to garner and transmit information – collectively, our “world” – have been greater as an aggregate in just the past 20 years than in any 200 years preceding.

We now possess knowledge and power greater than ever before. And this yields both risk and opportunity. We see the risks at every turn these days, from wherever we choose to get our news.

But we are here to celebrate the opportunity. We are The New World F.E.S.T. – and we embrace emerging paradigms, and revised priorities. We believe that we live in a time where it’s smart for ALL of us to … be smart. And when we truly gather as a community to celebrate, we begin to really live the important concepts of teamwork and collective effort. In the end, that’s what really will allow us, and our “new world”, to survive and flourish. And that’s something worth celebrating!
